Volunteer
Since 2005, the Kisumu Kiwanis club has received nearly 30 international volunteers, ranging in age from 20 to 65 years-old. While some volunteers have assisted with projects for a few weeks, others have stayed up to one year.
Depending on the current projects going on and the needs of the club, volunteers can be involved in anything from assisting in a nursery school classroom to helping market our reusable sanitary pads in the community. If requested, Kiwanis can also refer individuals to other community organizations depending on their particular skills or interests.
All volunteers pay for their own expenses, including airfare, travel insurance, and housing. Kisumu Kiwanis arranges volunteers’ accommodation (usually with a host family or with other volunteers) and gives supervision during their stay.
